What is Hora Muhurta?

Hora Muhurta is a concept in Vedic astrology that refers to the division of the day and night into planetary hours. Each hour, or “Hora,” is ruled by one of the seven primary planets: Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. The term “Hora” comes from the Sanskrit word “Ahoratra”, meaning day and night. Each 24-hour cycle is divided into 24 Horas, each lasting approximately 60 minutes.
